DiY Pest Control - Mosquito

Mosquitoes are blood sucking insects, they transmit diseases such as malaria and dengue fever and have caused many deaths.

All mosquitoes have 4 distinct stages in their life cycle; the first three - egg, larval and pupal - are spent in water.


Only a little stagnant water is needed, thus the vital importance of ensuring that our premises are free of stagnant water.


1.  Ensure drains are kept clear and running

2.  Ensure gutters and water gullies are not blocked

3.  Cover bamboo pole holders after use

4.  Do not leave standing water (eg. in watering cans) and change water in vases regularly
